A Silver Class in Uluwatu for Solo Travelers

A silver class is one of the easiest things to do alone in Uluwatu: you book a single bench, a Balinese silversmith guides you one-to-one, and in one to two hours you make a ring, pendant or earrings to wear home the same day. At Bali Jewelry House the Silver Class costs Rp 650.000 per person with one to six grams of pure silver included, and you can start any time between 9 AM and 5 PM, or join the night class until 10 PM.

Why It Works When You Travel Alone

Many activities in Bali are priced or planned for couples and groups. A jewelry class is not. Every class at Bali Jewelry House is guided one-to-one, so coming alone simply means the silversmith's attention is all yours.

  • No partner needed. You book one place and work at your own pace.
  • Something to focus on. After days of moving between places, an hour or two of concentrated handwork is a good reset.
  • Easy company. Other guests are often working at the same round benches, so conversation comes naturally if you want it, and nobody minds if you would rather focus.
  • A keepsake with a story. A ring you made yourself on a solo trip tends to be the piece you keep wearing.

What to Expect When You Come Alone

You arrive at The House, a Balinese house of bamboo halls entered through a carved candi gate, and start with a welcome drink. Then you sit down with your silversmith and decide what to make.

The class follows four steps: designing on paper, melting and rolling the silver, sawing, shaping and soldering, and finally filing and polishing to a mirror finish. Your silversmith handles the flame until you are comfortable, and steps in whenever you need a hand. For the full walkthrough, see what to expect at a silver class.

One practical bonus: when you travel alone, it is hard to get photos of yourself doing anything. Our team is happy to take photos and short videos on your phone, at the bench and at the four photo spots of The House.

Choosing What to Make

A few ideas that suit a solo trip:

  • A simple band with a hammered texture, for everyday wear.
  • A stamped ring with a date, initials or a word that sums up the trip.
  • A pendant in a shape that means something to you: a wave, a coastline, a symbol.
  • Small earrings, if you rarely wear rings.

If you want to add a stone, the studio tray has gemstones from Rp 200.000; the gemstones page explains each one. Extra silver is Rp 85.000 per gram if your design grows.

Which Class to Book

  • Silver Class: Rp 650.000 per person, the usual choice for solo guests.
  • Brass Jewelry Workshop: Rp 500.000 per person, up to 7 g of brass with gold plating included, if you prefer a gold-toned piece or a quicker, lower-priced class.
  • Royal Refreshment: the Silver Class plus any drink from the menu, Rp 720.000 per person, if you want to linger afterwards.

Planning Your Day Around the Class

Bali Jewelry House is at Jl. Toya Ning I, Ungasan, about 15 minutes from Uluwatu Temple, Padang Padang and Bingin. A day that works well on your own:

  1. Morning: a swim or a surf at one of the Bukit beaches, while it is cooler.
  2. Late morning or early afternoon: the silver class, through the hottest part of the day.
  3. After the class: lunch at The House Café, open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM, and a slow walk through The House.
  4. Late afternoon: the clifftop paths at Uluwatu Temple and the Kecak dance at sunset.

If you are staying in Canggu or Seminyak, Uluwatu is a longer drive, so it is worth planning a full day in the south rather than a quick trip.

How to Book

Send your date and preferred start time on WhatsApp (+62 821-7788-988) and we answer the same day. A day ahead is usually enough; in high season, two or three. Walk-ins are welcome whenever a bench is free.
